İhsan Doğramacı Bilkent Üniversitesi

Bilkent University, Turkey's first private (foundation) university, was founded in 1984 and was renamed İhsan Doğramacı Bilkent University in 2010 following the passing of its founder, İhsan Doğramacı. The name Bilkent is an abbreviation of 'Bilim Kenti' (Science City), and the university's founding mission is to take its place among the world's leading universities by supporting rigorous scientific research and publications with cultural and artistic activities.

With 29 undergraduate and 59 graduate programs across 3 institutes and 10 faculties, Bilkent University educates 12,000 students and ranks among Turkey's top 5 universities in global rankings such as QS and THE. Bilkent University Library — which houses a special collection donated by Prof. Dr. Halil İnalcık — provides access to a combined print and online total of 1,400,000 books, making it one of Turkey's finest libraries. The university also operates 15 different research centers, most notably the Nanotechnology Research Center.

Bilkent University requires all prospective students, regardless of department, to participate in an English Preparatory Program.

In addition, prospective students wishing to apply to undergraduate programs offered by Bilkent University must meet the following requirements.

For Turkish Students:

●    High School Diploma
●    Minimum YKS Base Score: 237,822 / Maximum YKS Base Score: 517,629
●    To be exempt from the preparatory program: a minimum score of 6.5 on IELTS or 87 on TOEFL

For International Students:

●    A score from exams such as SAT, GCE, AP, ABITUR, or MATURA (requirements vary by country)
or
●    An International Baccalaureate Diploma or A-Level Diploma
