Gazi University was originally founded in 1926 by Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk as the Gazi Teacher Training Institute and became a university in 1982 through the merger of Bolu Engineering and Architecture Academy, Ankara Academy of Economics and Commercial Sciences, Ankara Technical Career Colleges, and Ankara State Engineering and Architecture Academy.
One of the first higher education institutions established during the Republican era with the primary purpose of training teachers, Gazi University has evolved over time into a full university and continues to operate with the mission of training individuals capable of leading society while respecting humanitarian, cultural, moral, and national values, as well as contributing to the lifelong development and education of Turkish society by producing, sharing, and applying knowledge through scientific research.
Today, Gazi University provides higher education opportunities to approximately 40,000 students across 7 separate campuses in Ankara, with 11 faculties, 5 institutes, 1 college, and 3 vocational schools.

How to get into Gazi Üniversitesi
Gazi University requires prospective students to participate in preparatory programs for departments where the language of instruction is English, German, French, or Arabic.
Additionally, prospective students wishing to apply to undergraduate programs offered by Gazi University must meet the following requirements.

- High School Diploma
- Minimum YKS Base Score: 226.73163
- Maximum YKS Base Score: 422.53543
For International Students;
- TCS, ÖSYS, SAT, GCE AL & ASL, IB, or Abitur Score
- Turkish Language Proficiency Certificate
For Preparatory Program Exemption;
- English: TOEFL i-BT, CAE, CPE, or PTE Exam Score
- German: TELC, Goethe-Zertifikat, TestDAF Exam Score
- French: DELF/DALF, TFI Exam Score
- Arabic: YDS Arabic Exam Score
