Van Yüzüncü Yıl University is a public university founded in 1982 in the province of Van, Turkey. Although the idea of establishing a university in Van dates back to the reign of Sultan Abdülhamid II, in 1927 President Mustafa Kemal Atatürk sent the then-Minister of National Education, Mustafa Necati Bey, to the region to conduct an assessment, and Mustafa Necati Bey recommended the founding of a university in Van. The establishment of Van Yüzüncü Yıl University was postponed until 1982 for various reasons.
Having signed cooperation agreements with 36 universities and higher education institutions from different countries, the university has become part of a broad academic network and today offers higher education opportunities to more than 25,000 students on its campus situated on the shores of Lake Van, through 17 faculties, 5 institutes, 4 schools of higher education, 9 vocational schools of higher education, 1 state conservatory, and 43 application and research centers.

How to get into Van Yüzüncü Yıl University
The language of instruction for certain undergraduate programs at Van Yüzüncü Yıl University is English, German, French, or Arabic. Prospective students are first required to take a proficiency and placement exam, and depending on their score, they may proceed directly to undergraduate studies or begin a preparatory program.
