Recep Tayyip Erdoğan Üniversitesi

Recep Tayyip Erdoğan University began its academic life in 2006 under the name Rize University, and in 2012 it was renamed after Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, who was then Prime Minister and is now President. With its modern campus overlooking the sea, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan University is home to one of the most beautiful campuses in Turkey and was established with the goal of contributing academically and professionally to the development of the Black Sea Region.

Today, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan University provides educational opportunities to more than 17,000 students across 14 faculties and 1 institute, with a staff of 1,217 faculty members. Students can take advantage of the Erasmus and Mevlana student exchange programs to spend one or two semesters of their undergraduate education at another institution abroad.

Certain undergraduate programs at Recep Tayyip Erdoğan University are taught in English. Prospective students are first required to take a placement and proficiency exam, and based on their score they may either proceed directly to the undergraduate program or begin a preparatory program. In addition, students who have achieved a sufficient score on proficiency exams administered by OSYM — such as TOEFL i-BT, CAE, CPE, YDS, or YOKDİL — may apply for an exemption from the preparatory program.

Prospective students wishing to apply to undergraduate programs offered by Recep Tayyip Erdoğan University must meet the following admission requirements.

For Turkish Students:

High School Diploma

Minimum YKS Base Score: 201.8588

Maximum YKS Base Score: 431.11379

For International Students:

SAT, ACT, Abitur, or Matura Score

or

International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma or GCE A-Level Certificate

or

A sufficient score on the RTEÜYÖS Foreign Student Exam

Turkish Language Proficiency Certificate

For Preparatory Exemption:

A sufficient score on proficiency exams administered by OSYM, such as TOEFL i-BT, CAE, CPE, YDS, or YOKDİL
