Middle East Technical University

Middle East Technical University (ODTÜ) began its educational life on November 15, 1956, under the name “Middle East Institute of Technology,” with the founding mission of training specialists in the natural sciences and social sciences. Since the day it opened its doors, ODTÜ has been a pioneer of innovative education in Turkey. Among its former rectors is Prof. Dr. Erdal İnönü; the university currently offers 41 undergraduate, 107 master’s, and 69 doctoral programs, and has produced 120,000 graduates to date.

The university participates in student exchange programs such as Erasmus and Mevlana, as well as a joint degree program with SUNY offered across 3 departments. ODTÜ holds the distinction of being the only Turkish university to have placed in the top 100 of the Times Higher Education World University Rankings in 2014.

Middle East Technical University requires prospective students applying to English-medium departments to participate in an English Preparatory Program.

In addition, prospective students wishing to apply to the undergraduate programs offered by Middle East Technical University must meet the requirements listed below.

For Turkish Students;

●    High School Diploma
●    Minimum YKS Base Score: 338.58476 / Maximum YKS Base Score: 505.31021
●    For Preparatory Program Exemption: a minimum score of 6.5 on IELTS or 86 on TOEFL

For International Students;

●    Scores from exams such as SAT, ACT, and AP, or an International Baccalaureate Diploma or A-Level Diploma
