Duzce Universitesi

Duzce University is a public university founded in 2006 in Duzce Province, Turkey. Its origins date back to 1976, when Duzce Vocational School was established as an affiliate of Istanbul Technical University's Sakarya Faculty of Engineering. After operating for a time under Istanbul University, the institution was incorporated into Bolu Abant Izzet Baysal University when that university was founded in 1992, before being elevated to university status in 2006 and becoming Duzce University. The university launched its academic activities with 3 faculties and today provides higher education to approximately 30,000 students through 13 faculties — including the Akcakoca Bey Faculty of Political Sciences, Faculty of Pharmacy, Faculty of Education, Faculty of Science and Letters, Faculty of Theology, Faculty of Business, Faculty of Engineering, Faculty of Forestry, Faculty of Health Sciences, Faculty of Arts, Design and Architecture, Faculty of Sports Sciences, Faculty of Medicine, and Faculty of Agriculture — as well as 1 institute, 1 college, and 10 vocational schools.

Certain undergraduate programs at Duzce University are taught in English. Applicants are first required to take a placement and proficiency exam; depending on their score, they may proceed directly to undergraduate study or begin a preparatory program. Students who have already achieved a sufficient score on proficiency exams such as TOEFL, CPE, CAE, or PTE Academic for English, or on proficiency exams administered by OSYM and YOK such as YDS and YOKDIL, may request an exemption from the preparatory program.

Students wishing to apply for undergraduate programs offered by Duzce University must meet the following admission requirements.

For Turkish Students:

• High School Diploma
• Minimum YKS Base Score: 199.82247
• Maximum YKS Base Score: 435.81654

For International Students:

• SAT, ACT, Abitur, or Matura Score
  or
• International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma or GCE A-Level Certificate
  or
• A sufficient score on the Duzce University International Student Exam (DUYOS)
• Turkish Language Proficiency Certificate

For Preparatory Program Exemption:

• A sufficient score on proficiency exams such as TOEFL, CPE, CAE, or PTE Academic for English, or on proficiency exams administered by OSYM and YOK such as YDS and YOKDIL
