How to get into University of Copenhagen

International students wishing to apply to undergraduate programs offered by the University of Copenhagen must meet the following admission requirements.

  • Completion of 12 Years of Primary and Secondary Education
  • Anadolu High School Diploma / Science High School Diploma
  • Strong GPA
    • MEB Diploma Score of 85 or above
  • The applicant must have been placed into the degree program they wish to study at the University of Copenhagen through Turkey's university placement system and must have completed the first year of that program. 

or 

  • International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma

or

  • European Baccalaureate Diploma
  • English Proficiency Certificate for programs taught in English
    • An English Proficiency Certificate obtained through exams such as IELTS, TOEFL, or PTE Academic
  • Danish Proficiency Certificate for programs taught in Danish
    • Undergraduate programs are taught in Danish, so the University of Copenhagen requires applicants to hold a Proficiency Certificate obtained through an exam such as "Studieprøven i dansk" or upon completion of a supplementary course.
  • If their applications are accepted, applicants must pass the qualifying exam administered by the University of Copenhagen.

International students wishing to apply to graduate programs offered by the University of Copenhagen must meet the following admission requirements.

  • Bachelor's Degree Diploma
  • Strong GPA
  • English Proficiency Certificate for programs taught in English
    • An English Proficiency Certificate obtained through exams such as IELTS, TOEFL, or PTE Academic
  • Danish Proficiency Certificate for programs taught in Danish
    • A Danish Proficiency Certificate obtained through the Prøve i Dansk certification exam
  • GRE/GMAT scores may be required in accordance with the admission requirements of the program applied to.

Take a closer look at University of Copenhagen

The University of Copenhagen (UCPH) has four main campuses spread throughout the city, each specializing in different academic disciplines and contributing to the university's vibrant research and educational environment. The City Campus, located in the heart of Copenhagen, is home to the Faculty of Social Sciences, the Faculty of Theology, and some departments of the Faculty of Humanities.

This campus, which houses the university's historic main building, is home to several important facilities, including the University Library and CSS (Centre for Health and Society). The North Campus, located in the Nørrebro and Østerbro neighborhoods, is a hub for science- and health-related disciplines.

It is home to the Faculty of Science and the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences, including the prestigious Panum Institute — an important center for medical research and education.

The South Campus, located on the island of Amager, primarily houses the Faculty of Humanities, the Faculty of Law, and some departments of the Faculty of Theology. It is known for its modern architecture, innovative research centers, and the Royal Library and School of Information Studies.

Finally, the Frederiksberg Campus, though geographically separate, is closely affiliated with UCPH and specializes in agriculture and environmental sciences under the Faculty of Science.

Campus Life

Across the University of Copenhagen's 4 campuses, in addition to study spaces, libraries, cafes, canteens and cafeterias, and green areas, there are pubs known as "Friday Bars" where students and faculty members can socialize and enjoy themselves.

KU Studenteridræt, also known as KSI (University of Copenhagen Student Sports Association), has more than 70 sports teams that allow students to play sports and participate in various activities.

Studenterhuset, located in the center of Copenhagen, enables students to meet and socialize with other students from various parts of Denmark and from different countries.

The campuses also feature innovation centers where student ideas are evaluated and students can participate in workshops and activities, as well as student communities that students can engage with in line with their academic programs.
