Trakya University

Trakya University is a state university founded in 1982 in Edirne, Turkey. Established on foundations laid in 1973 with the Edirne Faculty of Medicine, affiliated with Istanbul University Cerrahpasa Faculty of Medicine, Trakya University serves as a regional university and plays an important role in developing and sustaining Turkey's relations with the Balkans.

Conducting research in collaboration with numerous institutions, organizations, and bodies to investigate, manage, and develop solutions for various environmental issues in the Thrace region such as water and soil pollution, Trakya University today provides higher education opportunities to approximately 40,000 students through 14 faculties including the Faculty of Dentistry, Faculty of Pharmacy, Faculty of Letters, Faculty of Education, Faculty of Science, Faculty of Fine Arts, Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, Faculty of Theology, Kırkpınar Faculty of Sport Sciences, Faculty of Architecture, Faculty of Engineering, Faculty of Health Sciences, Faculty of Medicine, and Faculty of Applied Sciences, along with 5 institutes, 1 state conservatory, 4 colleges, and 10 vocational schools.

Certain undergraduate programs at Trakya University are taught in English, German, and Bulgarian. Accordingly, prospective students first take a placement and proficiency exam; based on their score, they may either transition directly to their undergraduate program or begin a preparatory program.

In addition, prospective students who have achieved sufficient scores on proficiency exams for English such as TOEFL, IELTS, FCE, CAE, CPE, for German such as TELC, TestDaF, PNDS, or Goethe-Zertifikat, or on proficiency exams administered by OSYM and YOK such as YDS, E-YDS, and YOKDiL may apply for a preparatory program exemption.

Prospective students wishing to apply to undergraduate programs offered by Trakya University must meet the admission requirements listed below.

For Turkish Students;

• High School Diploma
• Minimum YKS Base Score: 198.28646
• Maximum YKS Base Score: 445.15665

For International Students;

• SAT, ACT, Abitur, or Matura Score
  or
• International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma or A-Level Certificate
• Turkish Language Proficiency Certificate

For Preparatory Program Exemption;

• Sufficient score on proficiency exams for English such as TOEFL, IELTS, FCE, CAE, CPE, for German such as TELC, TestDaF, PNDS, or Goethe-Zertifikat, or on proficiency exams administered by OSYM and YOK such as YDS, E-YDS, and YOKDiL
