TED University is a foundation university established in 2009 by the Turkish Educational Association Higher Education Foundation in Ankara, the capital of Turkey. Affiliated with the Turkish Educational Association (TED) — which was originally founded in 1928 under the leadership of then-President Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, with İsmet İnönü serving as its first president — TED University is seen as a continuation of TED Ankara College, founded in 1930 and one of Turkey's most deeply rooted educational institutions.
Since its founding, the Turkish Educational Association and TED University have set out to play an active role in safeguarding and advancing the values of civilization with a modern and progressive vision, achieving numerous milestones in education for the Turkish Republic and making significant contributions to the modernization of national education in Turkey.
The second higher education institution in Turkey to offer a liberal arts-style education after Sabancı University, TED University currently provides undergraduate opportunities to approximately 5,000 students through 5 faculties — the Faculty of Education, the Faculty of Arts and Sciences, the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, the Faculty of Architecture, and the Faculty of Engineering — along with 1 language school and 1 institute.

TED University Exam Requirements
Submitting at least one of the exams below with the required score is a prerequisite for application. The score threshold may vary by program.
How to get into TED University
The language of instruction at TED University is English. Accordingly, prospective students are first required to take a placement and proficiency exam called the EPE, and based on their scores they may either proceed directly to undergraduate studies or begin a preparatory program. Students who have achieved sufficient scores on proficiency exams such as TOEFL iBT, FCE, CAE, CPE, PTE Academic, or the ÖSYM-administered exams YDS or YÖKDİL may apply for an exemption from the preparatory program.
Prospective students wishing to apply to undergraduate programs offered by TED University must meet the following admission requirements.
For Turkish Students:
- High School Diploma
- Minimum YKS Base Score: 204.03916
- Maximum YKS Base Score: 427.29942
For International Students:
- SAT, ACT, Matura, or Abitur Score
or - International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma, GCE A-Level Certificate, or Advanced Placement Certificate
- Turkish Proficiency Certificate
For Preparatory Program Exemption:
- TOEFL iBT, FCE, CAE, CPE, PTE Academic, or YDS/YÖKDİL Proficiency Exam Score
