Sabancı University is a foundation university established in 1994 in Istanbul, Turkey, through the initiative of the Hacı Ömer Sabancı Foundation. Affiliated with the Sabancı Foundation, one of Turkey’s leading family foundations, Sabancı University holds the distinction of being the first higher education institution in Turkey to offer a liberal arts-style education. Under this system, students take a set of core courses during their first academic year and choose their program no earlier than the end of their first year and no later than the end of their second year.
Consistently ranking among the top ten universities in Turkey in international rankings such as the Times Higher Education University Ranking and QS Ranking, Sabancı University today provides higher education opportunities to more than 5,000 students across 3 faculties, 11 undergraduate programs, and 50 graduate programs.
