The main building of Moscow State University stands in Moscow, Russia. It is a 239-meter-tall, 36-story skyscraper. The famous architect Lev Rudnev designed it as the headquarters of Moscow State University. Seven skyscrapers were built in Moscow in the Stalinist architectural style between 1947 and 1953, and this one is the tallest. Since 1953, most faculties have been on Sparrow Hills in the southwest of Moscow — also one of the highest points in the city.
The main building houses the university administration and the Museum of Earth Sciences. It also holds the Faculties of Mechanics and Mathematics, Geology, Geography, Fine Arts, and Performing Arts. The building on Mokhovaya Street is home to the Faculty of Journalism, the Faculty of Psychology, and the Institute of Asian and African Countries.
