Karadeniz Teknik Üniversitesi

Karadeniz Teknik Üniversitesi is a public university founded in 1955 in Trabzon, Turkey. Operating under the name Karadeniz Teknik Üniversitesi from 1955 to 1983, then as Karadeniz Üniversitesi from 1983 to 1987, and again as Karadeniz Teknik Üniversitesi from 1987 to the present, it is the fourth-oldest university in the Republic of Turkey.

As the first university established outside of Istanbul and Ankara, Karadeniz Teknik Üniversitesi has become one of Turkey's leading institutions in the fields of engineering and architecture — many engineering departments were first introduced in Turkey at this university, after Istanbul. A member of the Caucasus Universities Union, Karadeniz Teknik Üniversitesi today provides higher education opportunities to approximately 30,000 students across 10 campuses, through 12 faculties, 1 college, 8 vocational schools, 6 institutes, and 20 research and application centers.

Karadeniz Teknik Üniversitesi requires prospective students to participate in preparatory programs for departments in which the language of instruction includes German, Arabic, English, Persian, or Russian.

Additionally, prospective students who wish to apply to undergraduate programs offered by Karadeniz Teknik Üniversitesi must meet the following requirements.

For Turkish Students:

• High School Diploma
• Minimum YKS Base Score: 205.10481
• Maximum YKS Base Score: 417.52409

For International Students:

• KTÜYÖS Exam Score

or

• SAT, GCE, IB, ABITUR, or ACT Score
• TÖMER Turkish Proficiency Exam Score

For Preparatory Program Exemption:

• English: TOEFL i-BT, CAE, CPE, or PTE Exam Score
• German: TELC, Goethe-Zertifikat, or TestDAF Exam Score
• Arabic: YDS Arabic Exam Score
• For other languages: a passing score on the university's own proficiency exam
