The National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) is a public research university in Mexico. It is recognized as one of the best universities in Latin America. How to get into Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM)

If you want to enroll in an undergraduate program at the National Autonomous University of Mexico, you are expected to meet the following criteria:

  • High school diploma
  • Transcript documents
  • Student visa
  • Letter from a non-accredited institution confirming the applicant's enrollment (must be written on the school's letterhead and signed by a school official)
  • Statement of purpose

In addition to these academic and language proficiency requirements, all students must take the Prueba de Aptitud Académica and achieve a passing score. The College Board administers this academic aptitude test exclusively for university admission in Latin American countries.

If you want to enroll in a graduate program at the National Autonomous University of Mexico, you are expected to meet the following criteria:

To obtain a student permit in Mexico, you must apply to the National Institute of Migration (Instituto Nacional de Migración, or INM). You apply there for an international student permit. You must show that you have applied for enrollment and have sufficient funds to support yourself during your stay.

The main campus is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, designed by some of Mexico's most distinguished architects. This modern, attractive campus is a center for education and cultural activity, and for research about Mexico. It also plays a critical role for the country by supporting the National Seismological Service, the National Astronomical Observatory, and the National Botanical Garden. You will find the central campus in the southern part of Mexico City. Several public transit options bring you there, including a free university bus service that runs through the campus.
 

Campus Life

The university's campuses have modern classrooms with up-to-date technology, workshops and laboratories, and libraries with extensive collections. You can spend time with friends over breakfast, lunch, or dinner at the cafes and restaurants on campus. The campuses also have dedicated sports facilities, including swimming pools, track and field areas, and gymnasiums. There you can meet other students and take part in athletic activities.
