Mersin Üniversitesi

Mersin University is a public university established in 1992 in Mersin Province, Turkey. Starting the 1993–1994 academic year with a handful of faculties, schools, and institutes, Mersin University has grown steadily to become one of the major universities in the Mediterranean Region, and today provides higher education opportunities to approximately 40,000 students across 17 faculties — including the Faculty of Maritime Studies, Faculty of Dentistry, Faculty of Pharmacy, Faculty of Education, Faculty of Science and Letters, Faculty of Fine Arts, Faculty of Nursing, Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, Faculty of Communication, Faculty of Islamic Sciences, Faculty of Architecture, Faculty of Engineering, Faculty of Sports Sciences, Faculty of Aquatic Sciences, Tarsus Faculty of Technical Education, Faculty of Medicine, and Faculty of Tourism — as well as 1 state conservatory, 7 schools, 5 institutes, and 11 vocational schools.

Certain undergraduate programs at Mersin University are taught in English, German, and French. Prospective students are first required to take a placement and proficiency exam, and based on their score they may either transition directly to undergraduate study or begin a preparatory program.

Students who have achieved a sufficient score in proficiency exams such as TOEFL or IELTS for English, DELF or DALF for French, or TELC, TestDaF, Goethe-Zertifikat, and PNDS for German, or in proficiency exams administered by OSYM and YOK such as YDS, E-YDS, or YOKDIL, may apply for an exemption from the preparatory program.

Prospective students wishing to apply to undergraduate programs offered by Mersin University must meet the following admission requirements.

For Turkish Students;

• High School Diploma
• Minimum YKS Base Score: 199.45572
• Maximum YKS Base Score: 450.91205

For International Students;

• SAT, ACT, Abitur, or Matura Score
  or
• International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma or GCE A-Level Certificate
  or
• International Student Exam Score
• Turkish Language Proficiency Certificate

For Preparatory Program Exemption;
