Istanbul University-Cerrahpasa is a public university located in Istanbul. The Cerrahpasa Faculty of Medicine — which takes its name from Cerrah Mehmed Pasha and was originally founded in 1827, though its roots can be traced back to 1453 due to its connection to Istanbul University — achieved university status in 2018 when it merged with several faculties, institutes, schools, and vocational schools of Istanbul University. Supported by the Istanbul University Cerrahpasa Development Foundation, Istanbul University-Cerrahpasa has accomplished numerous achievements across many fields of science, particularly in medicine and health sciences. Today it provides higher education opportunities to more than 30,000 students through the Faculty of Cerrahpasa Medicine, Faculty of Engineering, Faculty of Forestry, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Hasan Ali Yucel Faculty of Education, Faculty of Health Sciences, Florence Nightingale Faculty of Nursing, Faculty of Sports Sciences, Faculty of Dentistry, Faculty of Pharmacy, and the Faculties of Business Administration and Economics (currently being established), along with 6 institutes, 1 school, 5 vocational schools, 4 coordinatorships, and 16 application and research centers.

Istanbul University-Cerrahpasa requires prospective students enrolled in departments where English is used as the language of instruction to complete an English Preparatory Program.

Additionally, prospective students who wish to apply to undergraduate programs offered by Istanbul University-Cerrahpasa must meet the following requirements.

For Turkish Students;

• High School Diploma
• Minimum YKS Base Score: 201.68522
• Maximum YKS Base Score: 516.25336

For International Students;

• IUCYOS, SAT, ACT, ABITUR, IB, or GCE A-Level Score
• Turkish Proficiency Certificate or Proficiency Exam Score for programs taught in Turkish

For Preparatory Program Exemption;

• A passing score on the university's own proficiency exam
