Fırat University, whose foundations were laid with the establishment of its Faculty of Veterinary Medicine in 1970, officially began academic life in Elazığ in 1975. Through the higher education institutions it has opened in Elazığ districts, Bingöl, Muş, and Tunceli, as well as the graduate programs within the university, Fırat University has made significant contributions to the development of higher education in the Eastern and Southeastern Anatolia regions. Today, the university serves more than 35,000 students through 17 faculties and 4 institutes.
Through the Mevlana and Erasmus+ exchange programs at Fırat University, students have the opportunity to continue part of their undergraduate education abroad.

- To Skip the Preparatory Program: A minimum score of 84 on the TOEFL exam
