Founded in 1957 in Erzurum and the 7th oldest university in Turkey, Atatürk University has the second-largest campus in Turkey, covering an area of 7.5 million square meters. Thanks to the Faculty of Medicine Hospital on campus, Atatürk University serves as an important center of education and healthcare for the Eastern Anatolia and Eastern Black Sea regions.
The university's motto, ‘In the Service of Life, Always Forward...’ reflects Atatürk University's founding mission of contributing to its region and country while pursuing continuous development. Today, Atatürk University provides higher education opportunities to approximately 50,000 students through 22 faculties and 8 institutes. Through exchange programs such as Erasmus+, Mevlana, Orhun, and PAX, Atatürk University students have the opportunity to spend part of their undergraduate education abroad.
