Located in Chicago, Illinois, the University of Chicago (UChicago for short) was founded in 1890 by the famous American billionaire and philanthropist John Davidson Rockefeller, considered the richest man of all time. Since its foundation, the university has achieved many successes and has maintained its place among the top ten most prestigious universities in the world, and has been associated with 100 Nobel Prizes so far, making it the third most Nobel laureate university. It is particularly prominent in the fields of economics, political sciences, law and sociology. The school offers 53 undergraduate and more than 100 postgraduate programs to students, with 1 undergraduate building, 5 postgraduate buildings and 8 professional schools on the main campus on 87.8 hectares between Hyde Park and Woodlawn. The university also has campuses in Hong Kong, London and downtown Chicago, where it offers undergraduate and postgraduate courses alongside business schools. In 2010, it opened study centers in Beijing and in 2014 in New Delhi. Students who wish to study at the University of Chicago must have outstanding academic achievement, as well as a full resume of extracurricular activities and very high scores in the required exams.
