With its roots in the Adelphi Academy, founded in 1863, Adelphi University is a private, research-focused university located in New York. Its main campus located in Garden City, a quiet and peaceful area approximately 40 minutes away from New York City center. Adelphi University focuses its education on arts, humanities, STEM education model, profession-oriented approach and health. STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) education model is implemented in more than 10 departments in 4 main faculties at the university.

Adelphi University offers two different English Preparatory Year/Semester opportunities for international students who do not have a sufficient level of English: Academic English Program and General English Program.
Prospective students who want to apply to the preparatory year programs offered by Adelphi University must meet the conditions specified below.

• English Proficiency Certificate (English Proficiency Certificate obtained with the score obtained from the IELTS English Proficiency Exam)

Adelphi University has two campuses in New York, Garden City and Manhattan Center. Home to Adelphi University since 1929, the main campus, Garden City, is located 30 kilometers from midtown Manhattan on approximately 300 acres. Garden City campus, one of the 5 safest campuses in America, is equipped with greenery and countless walking paths. Featuring the historic Levermore Hall building and more than 10 faculty buildings, Garden City is home to nearly all of the school's undergraduate faculty and departments.
Manhattan Center, located in Holland Plaza, one of New York's symbolic buildings, hosts services such as financial aid, special training, career development and student counseling. In addition, Manhattan Center has study areas where students can come together.

There are many restaurants and cafes within the Garden City campus that appeal to every taste. Apart from this, Adelphi University offers a wide range of sports opportunities to students. These opportunities include a 76-acre sports facility, basketball and volleyball courts, a 16-kilometer-long jogging track, swimming pool, fitness centers, grass fields and tennis courts that host different sports.
