Candidate students who want to apply to the undergraduate programs offered by the Free University of Berlin must fulfill the following conditions.

The majority of the facilities of the Free University of Berlin, which is divided into 4 different campuses in Berlin, the capital of Germany, are Dahlem Campus, Lankwitz Geocampus, Düppel Campus and Benjamin Franklin Campus, are located on the Dahlem Campus in the southwest of Berlin. Formerly part of the faculty of education, the Lankwitz Geocampus now houses the earth sciences department and part of the university archives. The University's Faculty of Veterinary Medicine is located on the Düppel Campus, which is located only 2 kilometers from the main campus and consists of many clinics and institutes. The campus, which was opened in the same year as the founding of the university and named after Benjamin Franklin for the post-war United States support of the university and Germany, is located approximately 3 kilometers southeast of Dahlem and includes medical institutes, clinics and lecture halls within its borders. It is one of the largest medical facilities in Europe. Transportation between campuses is carried out via Berlin's dense public transport network. Dahlem Dorf and Thielplatz stations connect the university to the U3 line of Berlin's U-Bahn systems, while the S1 line of the Berlin S-Bahn system's Lichterfelde West station connects the university to the center of Berlin.
