Differences Between IB and AP

- In the IB program, students' performance is typically assessed through a series of written assignments, projects and exams. IB students generally receive diploma points based on their primary end-of-year exams.
- In the AP program, students' performance is usually measured with a single exam. These exams typically include standardized multiple-choice and/or open-ended questions, and students must meet a score requirement set by universities for success in AP courses.
International Acceptance and Recognition :
- The IB program is an international education program that is more widely recognized around the world. The IB diploma is accepted and respected by universities in many countries.
- The AP program is more widely implemented and accepted, especially in the United States. However, in recent years, the international recognition of the AP program has increased.
