Undergraduate

British-Patterned Education

  • At least five different IGCSE/GCSE/Ordinary Level academic subjects
    AND EITHER
  • Four different Advanced Subsidiary (AS) academic subjects
    OR
  • Three different Advanced Level (A Level)/International Advanced Level academic subjects.
  • English IGCSE/GCSE/Ordinary/AS/A Level is required for all programs.
  • Mathematics AS or A Level is required for programs with the Calculus prerequisite.
  • Other prerequisites should be presented at Advanced or Advanced Subsidiary Level.
  • General Paper, General Studies, Critical Thinking, Thinking Skills, Key Skills, and AS Global Perspectives and Research are not acceptable.

French Baccalaureate

Baccalauréat/Baccalauréat Genéral

  • Anglais completed in both the première and terminale years is required for all programs.
  • Spécialité Mathematics completed in both the première and terminale years will satisfy the Calculus prerequisite.  Mathématiques Expertes is also recommended for applicants to programs in Engineering
  • Spécialité Mathematics (première only) or Math complémentaires will satisfy the Advanced Functions prerequisite.
  • Spécialité SVT (Sciences de la vie et de la Terre) completed in première only, or, in première + terminale will satisfy the Biology prerequisite.
  • Spécialité Physique-Chimie completed in première, or, in première + terminale will satisfy the Physics and/or Chemistry prerequisite for admission to arts/science programs.
  • Applicants to programs in Engineering must present Physique-Chimie in premiere and terminale.

International Baccalaureate

  • International Baccalaureate Diploma, with English HL or SL
  • Prerequisites can be presented at the Standard or Higher Level.
  • The following IB Math courses will satisfy the Calculus and Advanced Functions prerequisites for science and business programs:
    • Mathematics: Applications and Interpretations HL
    • Mathematics: Analysis and Approaches SL
    • Mathematics: Analysis and Approaches HL
    • Mathematics: Applications and Interpretations SL will satisfy the Advanced Functions prerequisite (only).

US Students

  • U.S. Senior Year/Grade 12 in an accredited high school with a high grade point average.
  • Prerequisite subjects, including English, should be presented at Senior Year/Grade 12 level or AP/IB.
  • SAT Subject Tests cannot be used to satisfy prerequisites.
  • Calculus 12 or AP Calculus or one semester of college or university calculus is required for most math, science, computer science, and commerce programs.
  • Precalculus cannot be used to satisfy the calculus prerequisite.
  • AP Statistics does not provide the appropriate preparation.

Certificate in English Proficiency (for students whose first language is not English)

  • Certificate in English proficiency received through internationally recognized proficiency tests such as IELTS Academic, TOEFL iBT, PTE Academic, CAE, CPE.

Graduate

Prospective international students who wish to apply for graduate programs offered by University of Toronto must meet the admission requirements outlined below.
